Announcing the release of Avouch Linux 0.1.1

Today, we announce our next operating system release. A lot has happened since our first rlease, and you’ll see the results in Avouch 0.1.1.

In this release, edit your documents with LibreOffice 6.2.5 and GNOME Office (AbiWord 3.0.2, GIMP 2.10.12, Gnumeric 1.12.45), share your files using DropBox ‬79.4.143,‭ surf the Internet with Firefox 68.0.2 and Chromium 76.0.3809.132,‭ send emails via Thunderbird 60.8.0, enjoy your music collection with Audacious 3.10.1, watch your favorite videos with VLC and mpv 0.29.1, play games powered by Mesa 19.0.5 and WINE 4.15. You can also setup the Avouch LAMP Server (Linux 5.2.8, Apache 2.4.39, MariaDB 10.4.6, PHP 7.3.8). Perl 5.28.1, Python 2.7.16, and Python 3.7.4 are also available. As always, the new major release has some new features.

At the time we are delivering two Avouch distributions ISOs. We have merged Gnome and Xfce4 into one ISO. Similarly, Plasma and LXQT merged into one ISO. The Avouch edition continues to focus on delivering the secure, reliable and latest in open source desktop tools.

Avouch Live (Gnome + Xfce4) features

GNOME 3.34 — the latest release of this popular desktop environment, GNOME 3.34 features an updated visual style, including the user interface, the icons, and the desktop itself.

Xfce4 4.14 — the latest release of this light wieght desktop environment. Xfce4 4.14 features fast and low on system resources, while still being visually appealing and user friendly. This release introducing quite a few new features and improvements and fixings a boatload of bugs

Avouch Live (Plasma + Lxqt) features

Plasma 3.16.5 — the latest release of this cross-device work environment by the KDE Community, Plasma 5.16.4 The Visual Design Group and the Plasma team continue their efforts towards the usability and productivity goal, getting feedback and removing all the papercuts in our software so that you find Plasma smoother, as well as more intuitive and consistent to use.

LXQt 0.14.1 — the latest release of this ightweight Qt Desktop Environment. LXQt 0.14.1 incldes many bugfixes and some new functionalities for components. Now, it is possible to customize the header of detailed list view in pcmanfm-qt.
